- Signing Up For Every Affiliate Program You Find On The Internet - To be successful you need to find something and stick to it. The more things you sign up to do, the less time you have to devote to each thing. You are only one person and there is only 24 hours in a day. If you are juggling too many affiliate programs at once you cannot and will not be good at any of them because your time and attention are so divided.
- Copying Content - A successful affiliate marketing campaign hinges on your affiliate business blogs written from your unique perspective and original content as to why you are passionate about the product and/or service(s) that you represent as an affiliate marketer. You will develop and build stronger trusting relationships with your readership/followers with original unique content versus a cookie cutter copy and paste of content, which is absolutely okay for multi-level marketing (MLM) and is expected. Again, affiliate marketing is deemed a more professional business model and original content is expected. The only copying and pasting acceptable in affiliate marketing is from the vision, mission statements, company approved definitions and descriptions of their product(s) and/or service(s). The unique original part expected is in your professional business blogs where you are conveying your passion for the product(s) and/or service(s) of the company where you are an affiliate marketer. Your affiliate business blog readership/followers represent more than just an audience. They are a community and as you build a trusting relationship with that community you are viewed as a trusted leader in that community. As a community leader that has proven to be trustworthy, when you endorse or recommend a product or service, that readership community will defer to your judgment. Now, remember this will not happen overnight. It takes time to build up that trust and solid relationship of community.
- Do Not Clutter Up Your Affiliate Marketing Product Blogs and Squeeze Pages: Multiple banners advertising other opportunities you may be involved in, jokes, blog posts that are off topic have no place on your official posts of the affiliate product you are promoting. Those things will drive people away because of the unprofessionalism and also you run the risk of the company whose product(s) and/or service(s) that you have signed up to promote on behalf of that company suspending you as their affiliate marketer. It is the company's integrity and image they want presentented to their customer base at risk here. You do not own the product(s) and/or service(s), so stick with only placing quality content about that product only, with the exception of your review blogs if you choose to do product reviews. If you are doing short blog posts reviewing other products, they should be product reviews about what matters to your readership, as discussed above.
- Do Not Use Too Large Of Print And Sloppy Paragraphs: Paragraphs should be left justified and not centered making sloppy paragraphs. The font should be large enough for easy reading but not too large that people feel you are internet shouting at them. People take that as in your face and relate it to spam and will leave your site and may post negative posts about your product or advertising technique.
- Do Not Be Lazy In Your Affiliate Marketing Duties - You have to be diligent and have a set schedule to work your affiliate marketing if you want to be successful and make money from your efforts. This is why having a plan, daily and long term, is essential to keep you on track. Laziness is a major reason so many get discouraged and give up. You get out of any business what you put into it. If you work at it steadily with a set schedule you will see success. If you do not then money isn't just going to magically appear and you will not be successful. [Note: Teamwork will give you tools, guidance, encouragement, inspiration, and education to help you succeed, but we cannot do the work for you. You are responsible for taking the help, learning from it, and then applying it.]
